Our partner Trocaire has supported Fatima College in providing two external training programmes:
- The Local Governance and Poverty Reduction Strategy Department has trained over eighty five Paramount Chiefs and councillors in the Bombali, Tonkolili, Port Loko, Koinadugu and Kambia Districts in Good Governance and Human Rights. This is aimed at strengthening the decentralization process of the country.
- The college has trained 55 journalists in the Reporting Skills for key significant events such as the conduct of elections and prepared political party representatives for the electioneering process in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.
- With the help of CAFOD we provide a programme on Mental Health and Behavioural Change where we offer training to nurses in hospitals in Bombali and Koinadugu. We work in partnership with various stake holders like Caritas , Holy Spirit Hospital and Radio Maria so as to help with counselling, sensitization and medication. This programme is really essential to the communities as it has brought some family members back to their homes to continue to serve as bread winners and others to return back to schools etc. The College has trained over seventy nurses in Mental Health Studies in Bombali and Koinadugu Districts.
